Privacy Policy for Quecto

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Quecto is a macOS unit and currency converter developed by Iurii Stegnii ("the developer"). This policy describes how information is handled when you use Quecto.

Local processing and storage

Quecto does not require an account. Values and conversion queries you enter are processed on your Mac and are not included in requests for exchange rates.

Quecto stores your keyboard shortcut preference and a list of up to 30 recently selected units locally on your Mac using macOS preferences. This list contains unit identifiers, not a history of the amounts you entered. These preferences are not uploaded by Quecto to a developer-operated server.

If you choose to copy a conversion result, Quecto places that result on the macOS clipboard. Clipboard contents are then subject to macOS settings and access by other applications.

Currency exchange-rate requests

Quecto downloads exchange-rate data from the third-party fawazahmed0 Currency API. Requests are sent over HTTPS to jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), with a Cloudflare-hosted fallback (latest.currency-api.pages.dev). Quecto requests a USD-based rate table and performs conversions locally; it does not send the amount you entered, your conversion query, or your recently selected units to these services.

When making these connections, your IP address and technical request information, such as request time, requested URL, and HTTP headers, are available to the service providers. They may process and retain connection logs under their own policies. The developer does not control their logging or retention practices.

For information about these services, see:

Advertising, tracking, and analytics

Quecto does not include advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The developer does not sell personal information obtained through Quecto.

Apple may separately process App Store, TestFlight, diagnostic, or feedback information according to your settings and Apple's policies. This policy does not replace Apple's privacy policy.

Support communications

If you contact the developer, the developer receives the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message. That information is used to respond to your request and is retained only as necessary to handle the request or meet applicable legal obligations. Please do not include sensitive information in support messages.

Retention and your choices

Local preferences remain on your Mac until they are changed or removed. Removing the application alone may not remove macOS preference files. Quecto does not provide a cloud account or developer-operated cloud storage of your conversion history.

Third-party service logs are subject to the providers' own retention policies. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or otherwise restrict or object to its processing. Contact the developer about information held in connection with support requests; contact the relevant provider about information it processes independently.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if Quecto's functionality or data practices change. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date.
